MUDIE

I have struck an empty hole with my research:  Ann Watson MUDIE died at Otekura, South Otago, NZ on 6 October 1921 aged 48 years as a native of Scotland.  Plot owner Robert MUDIE.   I presumed they had married in Scotland but I am unable to find any records.

It is believed that she was a cousin to his first wife Hannah Paterson SMAILL who died in Scotland aged 27.

Can you help with any information?

DUNCAN, JONES, GUNN

I am looking for information on a George DUNCAN of Hawksbury who died in 1888 and bequeathed property etc to Mary JONES (nee GUNN) also of Hawksbury (Waikouaiti).  Also mentioned was a John DUNCAN of Cherry Farm.  I have no knowledge of any family connections with DUNCAN, however I have been unable to trace any family members of Mary other than her husband and children, so it is possible that she may be related somehow.  George DUNCAN does not appear to have been married, nor have any children.  Perhaps John DUNCAN of Cherry Farm was a brother?  Would love someone to shed light on this please.

IW008

TUFT, McLEOD

Looking for the marriage of William TUFT and Catherine McLEOD.  Catherine arrived in New Zealand in 1863, with her family from Wick, Caithness in Scotland.  William arrived with two brothers, date and ship unknown.  William was from County Down, Ireland.  No marriage record has been found yet.  It is probable that they married in Canterbury.  This marriage does not appear in the BDM indexes.  Are there any suggestions where I can find this marriage?
